AI Could Deliver Cancer Cures Within 5-10 Years

According to Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel, artificial intelligence is transforming cancer care and could lead to actual cures within the next decade. “I think in five to 10 years, we’re going to start seeing a lot of cures,” Siegel stated on Fox & Friends in October 2025[

How AI is Fighting Cancer?

AI is working in two critical ways:

1.Early Detection Before Cancer Forms: Dr. Siegel highlighted an AI program from Harvard called Sybil, which analyzes lung scans to identify areas that could develop into cancer well before radiologists can detect them. “If AI finds the parts of the lungs that are troublesome, then radiologists can follow up and see this trouble spot is becoming worse,” he explained.

2.Personalized Treatment: AI helps scientists identify “drug targets on the cancer molecule itself, which varies from one cancer patient to the next”. This allows doctors to match the right drug to the right patient, dramatically improving survival rates. “AI will tell you this drug will work for this person and not for that one,” Siegel predicted.

Breast Cancer Detection: AI can also detect subtle irregularities in breast cancer screenings that doctors might miss. Siegel emphasized that “using AI together with a great radiologist” can help find cancer “before it ever even becomes cancer”

Caution About AI Medical Advice

While AI shows promise, Fox News has also reported on concerns about using chatbots for medical advice.

Elon Musk has been urging people to submit their medical scans to Grok for analysis, but doctors advise using caution when relying on artificial intelligence for healthcare insights

Healthcare System Transformation:

Fox News coverage indicates AI is poised to transform America’s broader healthcare system[3], with precision medicine companies using AI to find hidden patterns in data, personalize treatment decision-making, and help predict treatment benefit.
